Congratulations to Dan Richards for winning a UK competition with his stunning time-exposure of railway tracks and Battersea Power Station at night.
Dan won the £100 prize in EOS Magazine’s Reader Challenge, which set the subject ‘Creative Shutter Speed’. His winning image and a write-up are published in the current edition of the magazine. Dan used a shutter speed of 3 minutes 23 seconds to capture the light trails from the passing trains.

He took the photo while on a visit to London with other Conwy Camera Club members last winter. The members returned to North Wales with stashes of fascinating night photos! Being part of a group makes it safer to use cameras and tripods after dark in large cities, as club members have also found during evening trips to Manchester and Liverpool.
