Two Conwy Camera Club members were recently presented with their Global Photographic Union (GPU) Aphrodite distinction by Sharon Prenton Jones, the GPU UK Representative.
To achieve the distinction, Sonia Jones and Vicky Marginson each submitted 10 images to the GPU for assessment.
Bob Gresty, chair of Conwy Camera Club, said: “We were delighted to receive the news that two members who have joined the club relatively recently have already started to gain international recognition. Congratulations to Vicky and Sonia.”
Any camera club member can submit images for the Aphrodite distinction. They first need to join the GPU. Information can be found on the GPU website: https://www.gpuphoto.com
The Aphrodite distinction comes under Title Awards. Each applicant needs to select five categories from the list below and submit two PDI images for each chosen category. There are two assessment days per year: 1st March and 1st October.
