Sarah Horrocks showcase and Monochrome

This month’s display on the club’s screen at the GH Edwards shop in Conwy High Street features work by Sarah Horrocks, a sequence of ‘Monochrome’ images and more results from the club’s ‘Summer Along the Coast’ archive project. You can also view the sequence below.

Sarah joined Conwy Camera Club in 2015 and found that everyone was friendly, encouraging and willing to share skills. She particularly likes seascape, documentary and flower photography. Her sequence includes scenes in deserted Llandudno during Covid-19 lockdowns.

The Monochrome sequence covers a wide variety of subject matter, including cityscapes, people, animals and tabletop set-ups. It shows how some images can be more effective when presented in black and white than in colour.

This month’s pairs of ‘Then and Now’ images depict Deganwy Promenade circa 1910 and in 2024, and a 1940s multi-photo postcard of Rhos-on-Sea recreated in 2024 by Ian Wright.
