Barbara Occleshaw showcase and ‘Water in Nature’

This month’s display on the club’s screen at the GH Edwards shop in Conwy High Street features work by Barbara Occleshaw, a sequence of ‘Water in Nature’ images and more results from the club’s ‘Summer Along the Coast’ archive project. You can also view the sequence below.

Barbara has always carried a camera, starting with a Zenith 3M. She enjoys the social life in Conwy Camera Club, where she has made many friends and has been inspired to try new photographic subjects. Her images in the display reflect her interests in nature, close-ups and travel photography.

The ‘Water in Nature’ sequence shows contrasting approaches to the subject by different club members. Some of the images show watercourses, lakes and the sea. Some show how water sustains animal life, from a sea slug to a herd of elephants. Other forms of water depicted include ice, a rainbow and droplets on a leaf.

This month’s pairs of ‘Then and Now’ images depict Llandudno prom and beach c.1920 and – with the addition of the war memorial – in 2024, and views of Penmaenmawr seafront before and after the A55 Expressway transformed the scene.
