Barry Evans showcase and ‘Animal World’

The first monthly display of 2026 on the club’s screen at the GH Edwards shop in Conwy High Street features work by Barry Evans, a sequence of ‘Animal World’ images and more results from the club’s ‘Summer Along the Coast’ archive project. You can also view the sequence below.

Barry is in his second year in Conwy Camera Club, where he has enjoyed taking part in workshops. His sequence of images on the screen reflects his interests in studio portraiture and other genres.

‘Animal World’ was the theme of a recent club competition where members entered images of a wide variety of fauna, as you’ll see from the selection shown on the screen. Some are portraits of pets or wild animals, some show animals in their environment. Photos that capture animals in action include images of a jumping squirrel and a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis.

This month’s pairs of ‘Then and Now’ images, in conjunction with Conwy Archive Service, depict Llandudno beach and the Grand Hotel in 1910 and – with the notable absence of the Pavilion – in 2024, and Old Colwyn beach in 1925 and 99 years later.
