Conwy Camera Club stalwart Sue Clark has received the award of Hon. NWPA in recognition of her valuable contribution to photography in the region over many years. The award was presented to Sue by Charles Meadows, President of the North Wales Photographic Association.
Since joining Conwy Camera Club in 2010, Sue has held many posts in the club. During her two-year term as chair she adeptly managed the difficult transition from physical to online meetings as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold.
Many club members have benefited from her Photoshop expertise at club meetings and practical sessions. She has also given eye-opening talks – meticulously researched and presented in clear language – about image manipulation since the dawn of photography to clubs across North Wales. She is also a judge in photographic competitions outside her own club.
In 2017, she initiated the Conwy Town Photographic Challenge, in which Conwy Camera Club members are given a list of themes to photograph in the given order, before presenting one image from each category to her on their memory card. The images are then judged and prizes awarded. Sue has organised this popular event every year since 2017, including a suitable variant during the pandemic.
