Pam Gresty showcase and ‘Movement’

This month’s display on the club’s screen at the GH Edwards shop in Conwy High Street features work by Pam Gresty, a sequence of ‘Movement’ images and more results from the club’s ‘Summer Along the Coast’ archive project. You can also view the sequence below.

Pam joined the club in 2022 after retiring from farming. Meeting like-minded people in the club and listening to guest speakers have helped her improve her photographic skills and inspired her to explore subjects other than landscapes, her previous main interest. As her sequence on the screen shows, she now enjoys cityscapes, macro, action, night and other photographic genres.

Various club members contributed the images showing different types of movement, including humans walking, dancing and playing sport. Mechanical movement is represented with cars, trains, escalators and motorbikes. There are also depictions of movement in nature and creative expressions of motion.

This month’s pairs of ‘Then and Now’ images depict Happy Valley in the 1920s and – with bigger trees – in 2024, and views of St Trillo’s Chapel, Rhos-on-Sea, roughly 50 years apart.
