Conwy Camera Club has produced a new book of photographs which were entered by members in the annual Lionel Bloodworth Creative Challenge. The Creative Photography book costs £10 per copy and is available at the GH Edwards shop in Conwy High Street.
The book also includes information about Lionel Bloodworth, who was a consultant physician and one of the main developers of renal services at Ysbyty Gwynedd in the 1980s and 1990s. After joining Conwy Camera Club in 2005, he set up a Creative group which introduced fellow club members to new ideas and effects. He and his wife Heather provided elaborate table-top set-ups for members to photograph indoors.
Club members were shocked by Lionel’s death in 2013. The club set up the Lionel Bloodworth Creative Challenge in his memory and to perpetuate his enthusiasm for the genre.
The first challenge was held in 2015, and this year’s challenge was the tenth. The new book presents images from each of the 10 years, including each year’s the winning image.
Rhodri Clark, the club’s communications officer, presented the first copy to Heather at one of the club’s evening meetings at the Conwy Borough football ground.
