Telford 200 ‘light painting’ on display in Conwy

Conwy Camera Club is supporting the Telford 200 exhibition at Conwy Culture Centre this month with a display of ‘light painting’ images created on the 200-year-old Conwy Suspension Bridge.

The exhibition includes information about the history of Thomas Telford’s bridge and Conwy in the 1820s, along with some of the results from the Telford 200 Creative Collective events held in the town last autumn. Conwy Camera Club’s contribution took the form of night-time workshops on the bridge, led by club member Ian Greenwood and Gareth Williams of Llŷn Light Painting. Participants used long exposures to record the shapes, letters or numerals which Ian drew using hand-held lights.

Six images from the workshops are included in the Culture Centre exhibition. They were taken by Martin Neale, Gail Johnson, Myo Tint, John Hibbs and Derek Phillips.

The exhibition is in the community room, past the double doors at the far end of Cantîn café.
