Tony Davies showcase and ‘Moods’

This month’s display on the club’s screen at the GH Edwards shop in Conwy High Street features work by Tony Davies, a sequence of ‘Moods’ images and more results from the club’s ‘Summer Along the Coast’ archive project. You can also view the sequence below.

Tony has been a photographer since the 1960s and joined Conwy Camera Club in 2015. He has gained many distinctions from photographic organisations. His sequence for the shop screen includes 10 architectural images which he used for his Global Photographic Union ‘Zeus’ distinction.

Most of this month’s ‘Moods’ images, by various club members, were entered in a recent club competition on the theme of people’s moods and emotions. The images cover a wide range of ages as well as contrasting moods, including joy, anger, pain, contemplation, despair and boredom.

This month’s pairs of ‘Then and Now’ images, in conjunction with Conwy Archive Service, depict the view along the coast path at the east end of Kinmel Bay in the 1970s and in 2024, and the view from the sands at Llanfairfechan in 1901 and 2024 – when quarrying had altered the skyline and the Victorian bathing machines were long gone.
