Pam Gresty wins DPS national award

Congratulations to Conwy Camera Club member Pam Gresty, who has won a UK photography award less than three years after taking up the hobby on her retirement from farming.

Pam, who lives in Conwy, joined her local camera club in 2021. She lives with Parkinson’s, and joined the Disabled Photographers’ Society in July 2022.  The DPS is a UK-wide club with over 450 members.

The DPS has two membership categories, for Aspiring Photographers and Experienced Photographers. League tables are compiled with the marks for images which members receive in quarterly themed competitions.

Pam won the award for coming top of the Aspiring Photographer league, having received the highest marks in 2023. This achievement results in her automatic promotion to the Experienced league for 2024.

Some of her high-scoring images in DPS competitions were taken at Conwy Camera Club workshops, which are held every two to four weeks throughout the year for members to explore photographic techniques or interesting locations.

Another recent achievement for Pam was her presentation, to an appreciative audience at Conwy Camera Club, of the results of her photographic project on the history of Conwy town.
